Ingredients
- Corn chips
- Cheese (Mozzarella or Cheddar), shredded

- Olives
- Salsa
- Tomatoes
- Onions
- Mushrooms
- Ground meat, browned
- Chicken, cooked and shredded
- Jalapeños
Note About Salsa
Salsa is ideal for a super quick and easy recipe, especially for a young child. Be sure to strain the salsa before being put on the corn chips, otherwise it will make the chips soggy during baking.
For a healthier variation of nachos, use diced tomatoes and finely sliced green onions instead of salsa.
Bringing it Together
The first step is to place a layer of corn chips on the bottom of an oven safe pan or tray. From there, your child can have fun exploring his/her culinary creativity.
→ Add any combination of ingredients on top of the chips, except for the cheese;
→ Add a layer of shredded cheese;
→ Lay down another layer of corn chips;
→ Add a top layer of shredded cheese.
→ Bake at 450 F for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
→ Remove from oven and enjoy! (Careful! The cheese is gooey HOT!)
